Birth: It is born in the oriental zone of Sierra Nevada, in the Cerro del Almirez.
River mouth: Mediterranean sea.
Villages where it passes: Its step along the municipalities of Rioja, Scallop, Viator and Benahadux it feeds to numerous estates of citrus fruits.
Curiosities: In Roman epoch it possessed an almost permanent flow, being navigable up to the municipality of Pechina.
